UnitedLinux is the product of four major Linux distribution vendors (Connectiva, The SCO Group (formerly Caldera), SuSE and TurboLinux) combining development efforts to produce a single Linux distribution, upon which each vendor will base future products.
After installing the third beta version of UnitedLinux it was clear that this distribution is based heavily on SuSE Linux. The installation uses the well regarded SuSE YAST2 installation tool and is very similar to SuSE Linux 8.1. The final installation is LSB-compliant, ensuring compatibility with LSB-compliant applications.
