The Texas Attorney General last week filed a lawsuit against Life Time Fitness and its subsidiaries after investigators allegedly found dumpsters at six of the national fitness-center chain's Dallas-area locations containing documents showing credit card numbers, expiration dates, Social Security numbers, addresses and other information that identity thieves find valuable. Attorney General Greg Abbott says the Eden Prairie, Minn.-based company "systematically" violated the 2005 Identity Theft Enforcement and Protection Act by allegedly dumping such unshredded information.
