NSW: MP did not try and sell protest photo, Telegraph editor
The Daily Telegraph says federal Labor MP JAMES BIDGOOD didn't try to sell them a photo
of a protester threatening to set himself alight outside parliament .. and only asked
for a donation to charity.
Rival Fairfax claims Mr BIDGOOD initially tried to sell the photos to a News limited
photographer .. but then realised the implications and instead asked for a donation to
charity.
Editor GARY LINNELL has told the ABC Mr BIDGOOD only asked for a donation for the photo
which appears in The Daily Telegraph today.
In Parliament yesterday .. Mr BIDGOOD apologised for taking the photographs .. following
a stinging rebuke from Prime Minister KEVIN RUDD.
